Name before adoption : Gongji
Name after adoption : Doughnuts
Adoption date : May 2019
Japanese Spitz mix. Female. 2y.

From new family :

Gongil’s name was changed to Doughnuts. She’s doing well – her initial quietness was a result of a very high level of anxiety, which we’ve been working to help her overcome. She’s a lot more involved with us now and will hang out on the couch in exchange for belly scratches, or with our son in his room for storytime.

She’s definitely at her happies in the outdoors. I’ve attached some picture of her on vacation with us(just in B&B on the Toronto Islands, travel wasn’t really an option in 2020) and in High Park. She used to be very uncomfortable about taking streetcar there, but we made it a big treat time and now on walks she will try to get on any streetcar she sees!

She absolutely hates cold weather, so this week hasn’t been much fun for her but I expect she’ll perk up a bit once we get into spring. All the best, (Jan.2021)

Daughnuts and the cat have reached a cold water level of detente, with occasional incursions by D to steal food that the cat didn’t eat fast enough. I don’t think they’ll ever be close but they do share the couch now.(Jan.2021)
